The member of the Council of Asharqia Chamber Ghadran bin Saeed Ghadran urged the Taiwanese companies to seriously consider investing in Saudi Arabia and take advantage of the initiatives offered by the Kingdom to the foreign investor.
He Ghadran during a meeting with the Taiwanese delegation headed by Joseph Chin and organized by the Chamber yesterday Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in its headquarters in the presence of Secretary General Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al Wabel that the delegation is visiting the kingdom at an appropriate timing as the kingdom has witnessed the birth of the new investment opportunities after the announcement of its vision that is the most ambitious in 2030, which reflects the stages making a new era for the Kingdom.
Ghadran reviewed a number of business opportunities, namely: the establishment of manufacturing bases for its products, particularly in the eastern region, which is the heart of the industrial activities in the Gulf, pointing to a number of leading Taiwanese companies accounted for its investment in Saudi Arabia more than $ 7.6 billion.
Chen, who headed a delegation of 25 members to enhance the relations between the two countries, pointing that the trade exchanges are increasing every year, as the Trade Development Council statistics Taiwan (TAITRA) announced that trade exchanges between the two countries amounted to more than $ 7 billion in 2016, while the Saudi exports to Taiwan reached $ 5.8 billion, represented in petroleum products and oil, as imports from Taiwan totaled $ 1.2 billion, the information components and industrial machinery technology, electronics, textiles, medical devices, automotive parts and equipment.
Chen noted that Taiwan is considered a pioneer in the field of manufacturing technology, adding that the purpose of the delegation visit is to enhance the trade cooperation between Taiwan and the Kingdom.
The delegation is visiting today Asharqia Chamber Jubail branch and will meet businessmen in the province, as the delegation providing a wide range of products in steel, automation, instrumentation, safety and security, home appliances, furniture, household, food and beverages, cosmetics, textiles and garments.
